The Christmas season has come: a season of celebrations and gifts. To make Christmas a joyful event, Baraka organized free medical camp with the help of Huruma and Consolata hospitals along with Rev. Sr. Gilda from Consolata Hospital, Kieni on 18th December at St. Lwanga Primary School, Naromoru (Nyeri County) and on 19th December at CCM Primary School, Nanyuki (Laikipia County).
On Monday, the event began with the Holy Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Boniface, the parish priest of Irigithathi Church. His sermon was on how to build up a healthy community. Rev. Fr. Boniface, Fr. Joseph Gitonga, the asst. parish priest, Fr. Mathew and the seminarians prepared the place for the Holy Mass and the medical camp. The medical camp started with a series of health talks given by the hospital staffs. The class rooms were divided for different tests like HIV test, TB screening and Blood pressure & sugar test. On the first day, around 700 people benefited of the medical camp. The Area-Chief had come and appreciated the Chalice activities done through Baraka. After the medical camp, each beneficiary families got a Christmas kit including bread, milk, rice, maize flour, cooking oil and so on.
On Tuesday, the event began at CCM Primary School Nanyuki with the Holy Mass officiated by Fr. Jose Martin CMI, the Site Director. As it was on yesterday, the medical camp and Christmas celebration was there. These were off-course joyful days for baraka as well as the beneficiaries.
